Another design turns the body into architecture. Its series of cubes evokes the experimental buildings that Suprematists like Malevich and Suetin called 'planits' (suggesting both the transcendental and the planned economy). The designs that were produced are notable for the different levels of their solidity- colours and shapes intersect like reasoned, calm construction- Lavrentiev suggests they 'bring to mind an urban architectural complex'. Despite this, they never quite approach the radical re-alignment of the body proposed in Exter's 'Aelita'designs. Photographs of Stepanova wearing her designs show a fairly regular cut, though the low neckline again suggests the sexual intent behind turning yourself into geometry. Also, for the most part her designs were for women only- men were still seemingly unwilling to become objects.
